Piquant is the word.

What I see here is a fantastic example of food photography. Great lighting, perfect macro focus and a mouth-watering view to boot.

What I did notice straight out of the gate is the watermark which is kind of distracting. It could've been put in the bottom right of the photo just as effectively. And also, something that caught my eye was the bit of grain around the background area and on the wall of the cup itself. I suppose that can be attributed to just odd JPEG compression or maybe just the camera (But it's a low-ISO on a D90, so that's unlikely). It could also be just Photoshop/Gimp/Paint Shop Pro being weird about resizing.

But regardless of this being inspired from another very similar photo, this photo still holds its own. The photographer had to brew the coffee, whip the milk, shave the chocolate, etc. There was effort put into this photo and that makes it stand miles above most other "copies".

The only things I would change about this, besides putting the cup in my hands, is the compression/grain/resizing artefacts and possibly the watermark. Other than those two minute details, this is a shining example of food photography in a dark age of bland-as-matzo examples. Keep it up!
